Minimizing investment costs is a critical part of investment success. Because we live this as part of our firm’s investment philosophy, we are excited to announce that Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) has reduced expense caps and investment management fees for several of the funds within our model portfolios.
As of February 28th, 2017, DFA has lowered the expenses on several of their international funds. DFA periodically evaluates investment management fees and overall expense ratios and looks to adjust or make reductions where appropriate. The funds that experienced this reduction are DFA Emerging Markets Core Equity Portfolio, DFA International Core Equity Portfolio, and DFA World EX U.S. Core Equity Portfolio.
Why does it matter to you?
Minimizing cost is a critical part of every investor’s toolkit. High fees can reduce the value of your investment portfolio over time. This is because not only is your investment balance reduced by the fee, but you also lose any return you would have earned on that fee. Over time, even ongoing fees that are small can have a big impact on your investment portfolio. The lower your investment costs, the greater your share of an investment’s return and the greater the potential impact of compounding.
